With the hope of bringing holiday cheers to its host communities, Meralco Power Generation Corporation and Global Business Power Corporation (MGen-GBP) employees led the “Pamaskong Handog” gift-giving activity in San Miguel, Bulacan and Baras, Rizal.

The first leg of the gift-giving activity was held last December 7 at Brgy. Tibagan, Brgy. San Juan, and Brgy. Labne—the host barangays of Powersource First Bulacan Solar, Inc. (Bulacansol)—a 55 MWac solar farm located in San Miguel, Bulacan.

Moreover, the second leg was held on December 13 for the partner communities of PH Renewables, Inc.—a 75 MWac solar power plant in Baras, Rizal which is scheduled to commence commercial operations within the first quarter of 2023.

More than 400 families received Noche Buena packages while 350 children received gift bags containing toys and school supplies. To further boost the program’s resources, the employee-volunteers also contributed cash, goods, and time.

Employee volunteer Amihan Bawalan said she hopes that this event brings great joy for the children amidst these difficult times we are facing.

“Malasakit is one of the company values that we are inculcating among our employees by spending time and giving cheers to hundreds of children and vulnerable individuals,” said Theresa Aura Aggabao, HR Site Head.

Pamaskong Handog—spearheaded by the Community Relations and Human Resources teams—is the annual Christmas outreach program of MGen-GBP, which highlights the value of social responsibility and giving back to the communities and pursue its brand promise of Powering the Good Life.
