Atimonan One Energy, Inc. (A1E) has won an Excellence Award for its livelihood project during the 18th Philippine Quill Awards held virtually last March 25.

The award was for the company’s Aplaya Sardines Enterprise with Atimonan Fisherfolks, which falls under the Communication Management: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) category.

The Aplaya Sardines Enterprise is one of the flagship projects of A1E under its Kaisa sa Kabuhayan CSR program on livelihood and enterprise development.

Through this project, the company revived Atimonan Coastal Food Production Association (ACFPA), a group of small fisherfolks in Atimonan, and provided them with an alternative source of income, especially during the off-peak fishing season.

A1E helps ACFPA develop a sustainable enterprise using the humble tamban (herring) for its products and empowers the group by helping them become self-sufficient.

The Philippine Quill Awards is one of the country’s most prestigious awards program in the field of business communication. It recognizes excellent communication research, programs, skills, and creative work by companies and agencies in the country.
