Integrated Synergy Construction Corporation (ISCC) gives plaque of recognition to its sub-contractors for the 2 million safety manhour achievement without lost time of injury in Atimonan One Energy, Inc.  project site last January 14.

Atimonan One Energy, Inc. (A1E) achieved two million safe manhours without lost time incident (LTI) last December, a milestone that cements the company’s commitment to safety, security and quality in all its activities at its power plant site in Barangay Villa Ibaba, Atimonan, Quezon.

Currently, there are more than 600 people working on site preparation activities, which started in 2018.

Integrated Synergy Construction Corporation (ISCC) – the contractor in charge of site civil works – recognized the subcontractors who played a big role in reaching the safety milestone during a small ceremony last January 14.

The subcontractors include Delta Earthmoving, Inc., Betobau Construction, Inc., and Rexsun Development and Consulting Corporation.

A1E recognized these companies’ commitment in ensuring best safety practices at the power plant site.

“We are proud of this accomplishment, and glad to have our employees and contractors on board in our commitment to health, safety and environment (HSE),” said Paul Kennedy, SVP for Construction of A1E parent firm Meralco PowerGen (MGen).

To which ISCC HSE Manager Marlon Ruiz responded: “I believe that the key to this achievement is strong culture of safety values, practices and commitment to safety standard and work processes in the field.”

As part of its effort to ensure a safety culture, A1E and its contractors conducts a toolbox meeting three times a week to discuss relevant health and safety-related activities.

On a weekly basis, there is also a management walkthrough and safety meeting with subcontractors to identify hazards and any unsafe acts and conditions that may be present at site.

Safety inspection reports are regularly prepared and submitted to A1E by the contractors to monitor safe execution of all activities at the plant site.
