Manila, Philippines — 11 September 2025 — Meralco PowerGen Corporation (MGEN) and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) announced the recent signing of a Deed of Accession and Amendment formalizing the replacement of Solar Philippines Power Project Holdings, Inc. (SPPPHI) by MGEN unit SP New Energy Corporation (SPNEC)  in the 63.3 MWp Calatagan Solar Farm in Calatagan, Batangas, further reinforcing their long-standing partnership in the Philippine energy sector.

Under the agreement, the companies affirmed their shared commitment to strengthen their strategic partnership as joint shareholders in one of the largest solar farms in Batangas. It also reflects their broader goal of accelerating the country’s renewable energy transition and pursuing opportunities in emerging technologies.

Our strengthened partnership with KEPCO underscores MGEN’s commitment to advancing clean energy and supporting the country’s sustainability goals. By working hand in hand, we aim to not only ensure the continued success of the Calatagan Solar Farm but also unlock new opportunities for innovation and growth in the Philippine energy sector.
