Pasig City, Philippines – 22 January 2026 —This is to confirm that SP New Energy Corporation (SPNEC), a renewable energy subsidiary of Meralco PowerGen Corporation (MGEN), has filed today with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) an application to change its corporate name to MGEN Renewable Energy Holdings, Inc. and stock symbol to MGENR.
The intended company name change forms part of MGEN’s ongoing rebranding initiative which started in August 2025. It aims to strengthen alignment and consistency across the One MGEN group as it presents a unified identity for its diversified power generation portfolio, including renewable energy.
The filing is intended to enhance clarity and ease of identification for stakeholders and does not involve any changes to SPNEC’s ownership structure, operations, or existing renewable energy projects. SPNEC will continue to operate as usual and further updates will be provided as necessary, subject to the approval of the company’s stockholders and SEC.
